As a child of the 90s, I grew up with the slogan”milk does the body good” plastered all over my school cafeteria walls. Various celebs would pose with their glasses full and liquid mustaches at the ready, extolling the virtues of all things dairy. Now it seems that beauty brands are taking this message to heart with more and more skin care companies incorporating milk into their products.
Now, milk used in beauty isn’t exactly a new concept. Fabled beauties throughout history have attributed it to flawless complexions and it is even rumored that Cleopatra would take milk baths to keep her skin supple and radiant.
So why milk? What makes this one of the super foods of skincare? To be clear the reason it is such a go-to ingredient is the lactic acid. Proven to soften skin and remove dead cells gently, it is one of the perfect things to use for people that have sensitivity issues.
Now with the demand for milk on the rise, companies are getting creative bringing in a variety of kinds of dairy within their products. A particular favorite of ours is goat and almond milk.
So without further ado, check out our round-up of the latest and greatest dairy based beauty out there.
