How to layer last minute holiday party looks

Scroll down to content

With the holidays in full swing and party season almost at its end, putting together looks for the final festivities can be a real struggle. With social media, no outfit goes unseen and while I am all for rewearing tried and true favorites, no one wants to be that person that’s worn the same look over and over again to various get-togethers. And let’s face it, party frocks can get pricey. With so many other things to be spending on this season, buying a new look for each social engagement isn’t an option.

One of the ways that I have found to get around this dressing dilemma is, you guessed it, layers… Now I know that repeat readers here at The Everyday Editor will know all about my love of layering. But here are some tips that I have specifically for changing up your eveningwear.

  • Light weight lace, velvet, or sequin tops are excellent pieces to be worn under summer dresses. Make these dresses last through the colder months by pairing longsleeve festive blouses to create a unique look.
  • For even more versatility, try wearing your top with a pair of dress pants or a skirt for a non-traditional holiday ensemble that is anything but boring.
  • If you do find yourself wearing the same dress to multiple events, change up the vibe by pairing it with different accessories. While not a foolproof way to totally create a new look it will at least give enough of a different vibe to keep things from getting stale.

Hope you enjoyed the post and that you have a very merry Holiday and an amazing New Year.

xx
